What I love most about teaching:
I enjoy watching my students discover that, with effort and the right attitude, they can achieve just about anything. I also like to build relationships with students and their parents, thereby creating a community of learners that extends beyond the current school year.
My favorite moment in teaching:
A couple of years ago, a former fifth-grade social studies student of mine came to visit me. He was being honored as one of the top seniors in his graduating class at a nearby school district. He asked me, as his most influential teacher, to be his guest at an awards banquet. It was a humbling experience.
Personal information:
I like to bake, read, spend time with family and friends, and take walks with my puppy. I also like bike riding and swimming.
