I love to share new ideas and information with educators throughout the country and introduce new tools for their classroom in order to promote an effective classroom.

PLS Courses I Teach:

  • Classroom Management: Orchestrating a Community of Learners® Online

Teaching Experience:
10th Grade World History at Seneca Valley Intermediate High School for 6 years

Related experience, recognition, awards, etc.:
Work with the Seneca Valley IHS technology facilitator on a daily basis working on the school’s computers.

What I enjoy most about teaching:
I enjoy the interaction with those that I work with in teaching. I enjoy sharing and borrowing ideas that help make a more effective classroom. I enjoy knowing my job as a PLS facilitator will enable other teachers to take ideas back to their classrooms.

Favorite moment in teaching:
One of my favorite moments each year is a classroom activity that I use called Culture Fest where each student has the opportunity to make an ethnic food from around the World. Last year, I had an email from a parent that really enjoyed the activity because their son was able to work with her in the kitchen and learn about cooking and culture all at the same time. It was also a great bonding opportunity at an age when there doesn’t seem to be very many.

Personal Information:
I enjoy living in the country. I live on a 100 acre farm and spend my summers doing chores on the property.
