I have taught social studies, gifted education, instructional technology, and leadership and organizational development in the business arena. Recently I taught and counseled at an alternative school for substance abuse dependent students. My teaching there focused on computer training and digital imaging, while my counseling approach utilized the Discipline without Stress principles of Marvin Marshall. My total teaching experience is 37 years. I am certified in both comprehensive social studies and K-12 instructional technology.

My undergraduate degree is in education, while my masters and doctoral work focus on curriculum development and supervision.

I have been married to Susan, an elementary school teacher, for 26 years. Our daughter, Jennifer, graduated last year with a BFA in Film and Visual Arts and a BA in English. She is currently in Japan engaged in a multi-year teaching assignment for the Japanese government.

I recently retired from my corporate job as a professional trainer and look forward to traveling with Susan when she retires. I plan to continue my PLS teaching in both the online and “live” formats.

I am a vegetarian and a runner who enjoys good health and staying fit and energetic. My hobbies include photography, videography and digital imaging. I love reading history and watching documentaries on both PBS and the History Channel. And I enjoy cooking.
