Why I love teaching PLS courses:
We are living in an ever-changing global society. A 21st century education deserves 21st century methods. I love the idea that PLS courses are progessive, full of sharing ideas, and teachers can leave with things they can use in the classroom immediately. Admittedly, I'm known to steal a few ideas from classes myself.
Education:
Bachelor of Science, Mathematics Education, Bradley University, 1986.
Masters of Education, Administration, University of Illinois, 1991.
Teaching Experience:
21 years of high school mathematics including everything from remedial through AP...and YES PLS classes have LOTS of applications for the math classroom!
Related experience, recognition, awards, etc.:
Head Coach Math Team
Webmaster - Illinois State Math Contest
American Legion Premier Boys State
What I love most about teaching:
Knowing that you are making a difference in the growth and lives of today’s youth.
My favorite moment in teaching:
Having alumni come back from college, stop by my room, and say “Now I understand why you taught the way you did.” (And yes, I DO enjoy saying back to them "told ya so!")
Personal information:
Bowling anyone?
Tennis anyone?
Expect to hear doggie (Lucky and Mason) stories in class!
