Supporting the Learning of English Language Learners:Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement Training for Administrators, is a course that equips administrators with the essential knowledge and skills to understand how to support the implementation of differentiated instruction that meets the individual needs of English Language Learners.
The SEI course provides administrators with effective, manageable coaching strategies for meeting the needs of an increasingly diverse student population and explores cultural and social aspects of the English Language Learner.
Administrators need to understand how to support teachers in the experience of planning instructionally diverse lessons, based on assessment data, within the context of a standards-based curriculum. SEI for Administrators presents the same strategies in the SEI for Educators training, with a focus on how to support language and literacy development in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and comprehension in all content areas.
It also provides methods for coaching and mentoring the classroom teacher or any faculty member working with an English Language Learner, with a focus on providing quality experiences and learning environments that allow students to be successful in school and in life.
