Nancy Fahner
Nancy Fahner is a passionate educator and systems thinker with over 35 years experience working with both students and adults. She has diversified experience as a classroom teacher, staff developer, curriculum writer, program coordinator, school improvement consultant, presenter and facilitator.
Nancy is respected for her personal integrity, enthusiasm, deep knowledge and practicality. She has worked closely with the Michigan Department of Education, assisting with the writing of a new state framework for school improvement. She has also served on advisory boards for Lansing Community College and the Prentice Hall Literature series. In addition, Nancy has written and delivered extensive professional development in the following areas:
- quality instructional practices
- creating collaborative cultures
- professional learning communities
- effective parental involvement programs
- school improvement processes
She has also facilitated numerous sessions related to leadership development and change initiatives.
Practical teaching ideas of hers related to student engagement, parent involvement, and classroom practices have appeared in numerous publications. Nancy was instrumental in the writing and implementation of a manufacturing school-to-work program that received national recognition. Most recently, she was a contributing author to the series of books, Redefining Rigor, Revitalizing Relationships and Reaching Relevancy.
