Her most recent effort includes writing and delivering a successful statewide ELL (English Language Learner) endorsement program, approved by the Arizona Department of Education, which mandates 60 to 90 hours of training for all teachers and administrators in Arizona. With this initial ELL program, over 1,500 teachers and 300 administrators in the state of Arizona have received their necessary certifications.
As requested by the Arizona Department of Education, Lori authored a subsequent training session, which was delivered during the 2009–2010 school year. This program uses the new SUCCESS model for reflective lesson planning and delivery with ELL students, but supports all students with an emphasis on language and literacy. Due to the national interest in the SUCCESS model, it is now being proposed in the states of Alaska, Nevada, Texas, and New York. Her current work focuses on using innovative technology and interactive coaching to enhance teacher performance in the classroom through quality professional development models.
Lori is a curriculum designer, editor, and published author, having written books, articles, and columns for publications within the education field. She enjoys teaching university classes in education and motivating students by sharing her personal passion for the field. She is sought out as a national keynote speaker and has also presented in public and private schools, organizations, churches, businesses, and conferences.
Lori’s mission is to enhance each teacher’s knowledge through meaningful experiences, touch teacher’s beliefs about the classroom, and help teachers develop new classroom strategies that will improve the educational experience for everyone.
