Stan Whipkey
My Favorite Teaching Moment
I firmly believe that teachers make a difference in kids' lives. My goal each day at school is to say, do, or teach something that makes a difference in a young person's life. For several years, I taught only sixth-grade students at my middle school. Yet every year the eighth-grade yearbook listed me as one of the three most popular teachers at our school as voted on by eighth-grade students. Two years after they had me in class, students still consider me one of their most popular teachers. I like that!
Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses
PLS courses are the most practical and applicable courses that I have ever taken on how to be a more effective teacher. PLS courses are like do-it-yourself books. If you want to remodel your kitchen and do it yourself, you buy a book that tells you how. If you want to know how to be a more effective teacher, a PLS course can show you the way.
