My Favorite Teaching Moment
I like using the different strategies that I have learned from the PLS courses. It’s awesome to see kids gain confidence in themselves and then put forth more effort because they know they can do anything.
One year I started a fly tying club for some of my students who liked to fish just as much as I do. We met for six weeks in the winter, and when the ice finally melted, we were able to head to the river and fish with the flies we had made. These kids still come back to me and say, “Hey, you remember that time we went fishing together? I just took my own son down to the river, and it reminded me of our time together.” Sadly for me, most of the flies I tied in that class ended up in trees rather than in fish.
Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses
I love teaching PLS courses because it gives me an opportunity to meet with other educators in my area and share the latest proven teacher techniques that help students succeed in the classroom.
