My Favorite Teaching Moment
What I love most about teaching is the constant interaction between people: students and students, students and teachers, teachers and parents, teachers and teachers. There is so much to learn in every one of these relationships; it is always changing, always exciting. I love thinking about the way people learn and what/how they understand things.
My favorite teaching moments are truly just the daily grind of getting to know one’s students and finding the right ways to challenge them and meet their needs. I love the frequent aha’s that are so innocently apparent in young children and the contemplative reflection of older and adult students.
Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses
I love teaching PLS courses because I think it is the perfect solution for teachers who want an authentic and useful approach to continuing their professional development. As a PLS student, I was always struck by the depth of understanding I gained from the theoretic foundation, balanced with the hands-on, interactive methodologies of the instructors. I strive to reach this balance in the courses I teach and love the way each class grapples uniquely with the course content and their engagement with it.
