My Favorite Teaching Moment

I am basically still a learner at heart. By teaching I am allowed to continue to explore, question, and learn. By learning in an online forum the connections that we make are able to continue regardless of the distances between us. My online relationships with colleagues and students continue long after the course ends.

My favorite moments in teaching come years after I have a particular student in class. Almost every time my family goes to a baseball game (the Padres, of course) I see a former student who is eager to tell me about their successes in life and to meet their own children.

Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses

I truly enjoy the online teaching experience for the interaction that happens when we all come together to learn. The insights, observations, and ideas of the students always keep me learning and allow me to see things from different perspectives. I find that the conversations we have are very thoughtful and reflective. The online class can be a very busy experience, but it also allows us the time to dig deeper into the ideas and consider the broader questions.
