My Favorite Teaching Moment
In my first PLS course, I had a participant who had been one of my fourth-grade teachers. At the time, she had already made three attempts to earn her master's degree. She was scared and nervous and didn't have much motivation, having been a teacher for almost 25 years. She finished her master's a year later—and on her birthday! She simply cried in disbelief and pride over her accomplishment. She said, "This changed everything about my teaching!" I felt doubly good because she was one of the people who had taught me; I returned the favor by teaching her.
Why I Love Teaching PLS Courses
I believe that these courses revitalize teachers and take them to a place where they are excited about teaching again, and in turn their students benefit, which is why I believe so strongly in teaching PLS courses.
