Master of Arts in Teaching

This program is designed for educators who aspire to enhance their careers by gaining expertise in the successful application of instructional strategies. With this degree, you will be prepared to deliver instruction to help students learn more effectively. You will also learn academic and behavioral strategies that can be readily implemented with students who are not achieving. This degree will prepare you to design strategies for effective teaching for even the most challenging student in any subject area. The Master’s of Arts in Instructional Strategies degree requires 36 semester hours. The off-campus Master's program requires five PLS courses, and can include up to seven PLS courses with two as electives. Choose from any PLS graduate courses to count toward this program. Transfer credit of up to six hours may be applied upon approval.

The Master’s program is offered on campus and at various off-campus locations throughout the state of Illinois and can be expanded as interest warrants. Many courses are offered at non-traditional and convenient times such as weekends.
